Hi- I’m scheduled to see someone out of state for my generalized vitiligo in July. However, I would love to have the name of a physician in the Atlanta GA area. My son also has vitiligo ( he is 25) and has started to see progression. I would love to have him see someone in our area.
Thank you so much!
I have had vitiligo since 2010 in a 34 yr old male. It affects different parts of my body and I am not concerned with treatment. I am concerned with protection from the sun. I have noticed this year my hands are basically completely white. I usually tan very easily in the summer. My face is affected as well and it has spread to more of my face. I am curious as to what the best options out there are for sun screen? Thanks in advance.
Can anyone recommend a dermatologist knowledgable about vitiligo in the Baltimore/Washington DC area?
Hi Wayne. One in our members in DC goes to Dr. Okoye at Howard University Hospital who took over Dr. Halder's practice. He was a vitiligo specialist.
Hello, I was wondering if anyone here with Vitiligo plays waterpolo. My son was diagnosed in January. And he loves waterpolo he’s played for years. Right when he was diagnosed my first thought was he’s going to have to stop playing. His dermatologist didn’t seem worried and actually talks to him about the sport. But as a parent and spending so much time in the sun I worry and am concerned about his Vitiligo spreading and becoming worse.
Hello
I'm Daniel and have just joined here. I got diagnosed with generalized Vitiligo. I have it on my hands, too.
I'll have to wear sterile gloves at work (medical sector).
I've read about potentially harmful ingredients in Latex gloves (phenols) that can aggravate Vitiligo on the hands.

Apparently molecules containing an aromatic ring or Sulhydryl groups are potentially dangerous.
I'm starting to believe that sterile Nitrile gloves are… read more
just curious -- since I am one of the 99% lost pigment and incredibly sensitive to sun and avoid it 99% of the time -- anyone else in this situation? do you have to stay on top of D levels with supplements regularly or just expose yourself anyway?
I have Vitiligo and just got diagnosed with Lupus. Does anyone here have them both. How do you deal with them? If I am going to be honest. I put it in God’s hands, but I am afraid.
