I want to ask that should I go for COVID-19 vaccination ? My main concern is that the vaccine will make the immune system more enhanced to fight against corona virus so I think it will also effect Vitiligo

I got vaccinated in May 2021 with my first dose and by the end of July 2021, I noticed a sudden flare up and rapid progression.
I don't know if it is because of the vaccine because I was on antibiotics for a month in June.
This also raises another question, has anyone noticed increase in their vitiligo post/during the use of antibiotics?

I’m very sorry you are going through this. I had it prior to the shots but after it progressed more than it ever had before in a short period of time.
Hello, I was wondering if anyone here with Vitiligo plays waterpolo. My son was diagnosed in January. And he loves waterpolo he’s played for years. Right when he was diagnosed my first thought was he’s going to have to stop playing. His dermatologist didn’t seem worried and actually talks to him about the sport. But as a parent and spending so much time in the sun I worry and am concerned about his Vitiligo spreading and becoming worse.

Anyone on here not have autoimmune arthiritis before covid 19 vaccines and now have swollen painful joints since the vaccines?
I had all five of the Pfizer vaccines, and no issues at all. But then again I'm old,
If anyone would be so kind as to answer this question. I know everyone’s spots are different and unique, but was just getting a sense of an idea on what’s going on with my hands. Even though this can be different for everyone, this helps me get a bit calm in understanding how it happened to others, plus I LOVE hearing everyone’s story about how it started with vitiligo. This helps me not feel so alone with this next chapter of vitiligo.

I was told this by two doctors that Vitiligo is a fungus -I was also told by a dermatologist that is also associated and related to Hypo Thyroidism -Does anyone else have any information on this ? Are both Autoimmune issues too? Any feedback greatly appreciated

While it may not be a fungus, I have experiened a higher susceptibility to fungal infections on my skin. It makes me wonder if skin biome composition interacts with fungus differently

I’m wondering what other conditions people got after being diagnosed with vitiligo. Or before for that matter. I’ve seen some discussions of psoriasis. What other conditions did you get? Did they come before or after the vitiligo?
