Anxhela hello! UVB phototherapy works by stimulating melanocytes,
the cells in the skin that produce pigment. In areas with depigmentation, these cells are either absent or dysfunctional. When exposed to UVB rays, melanocytes become more active, which leads to the production of melanin. This process is essential for initiating repigmentation and restoring color to the affected skin.
Treatment is usually given twice a week for 3–4 months, and continued until re-pigmentation is complete or for 1–2 years. It may take several months to see an improvement.
In most patients, repigmentation
is permanent. However, increased pigmentation
(tanning) may occur in all exposed areas, and this tanning may persist for weeks to months after treatment is discontinued.

What xtrac would you recommend to buy for the house. My son has vitiligo and it is difficult to keep going three times a week. There must be a good xtrac machine that’s reasonable to buy for the house. Thank you
