Lisa Schuster, Ph.D.

Dr. Lisa Schuster, who has vitiligo herself, is a licensed psychologist specializing in stressful events and experiences. Dr. Schuster works at Children’s Health in Dallas, where she assesses children with concerns of abuse or neglect for difficulties in social-emotional or behavioral functioning. She is also an assistant professor in the department of psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Schuster completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Detroit Mercy, her internship in infant/child mental health at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans, and her postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric health psychology with concentrated work in child maltreatment at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. Her clinical experiences have focused on working with at-risk populations and children who have experienced psychological and physical trauma. Dr. Schuster is a strong patient advocate who is highly invested in improving outcomes for children and is continually looking for ways to use her professional knowledge and skills to support others living with vitiligo.
