I have not discussed this with any doctor because it scares me. However I have the question of whether this is to return the skin color and is it an ongoing treatment? Is it expensive treatment?
Thank you,
Martina.
Hi qu
Thank you for this information. I am tight with cash but it doesn't seems too expensive, definitely making an appointment with dermatologist to check this up maybe I can apply it around my lips… read more
Dr. Lim just approved this for me as it is 40 minutes to treatment each way and getting harder with work. I am just wondering if it will be a big machine as well, how would I operate it alone, and where would I put it?
Would love to hear from someone who has done this.
And - I am not even sure yet if my insurance will cover it yet.
Have a great day!
I use Dermalume 2X from National Biological Corp. UVB Narrowband. Use it twice a week. Improvement is slow. If nothing else, it stops the spread.
Does anyone use a IV lamp or laser phototherapy at home? Has it been successful? Which one do you use? Can you please share a link
I looked into the clinics that does the laser but it’s so expensive and my insurance doesn’t cover it
Saw this post from 3 months ago but didn’t see any responses. Very interested as I recently got diagnosed
Thank you!!
I heard it takes a min. of 12 weeks to see any progress. I added UVB at least 3x a week to see if it speeds the progress. Just wanted to hear about any other's experiences.
I have been using it since the middle of October and have not seen any changes yet
I started the narrowband UVB treatments back in 2002 at a dermatologists office. After about 6 month of office treatments, the PA suggested trying to get my own light panel. My insurance paid for it… read more
If anyone would be so kind as to answer this question. I know everyone’s spots are different and unique, but was just getting a sense of an idea on what’s going on with my hands. Even though this can be different for everyone, this helps me get a bit calm in understanding how it happened to others, plus I LOVE hearing everyone’s story about how it started with vitiligo. This helps me not feel so alone with this next chapter of vitiligo.
I pray this doesn’t seem intrusive to anyone. So if… read more

Yes have bought dermfix for my son. Have only been using it for a few days now. The instructions manual is very limited. Does anyone else use it. Some tips will be great
Hi my son (8) has been having UVB treatment for vitiligo for about 6 months now with good effect.
The dermatologist has prescribed him Protopic to use alongside the UVB treatment, but everything I can find about it says this concentration shouldn't be used in children under 16yrs and I don't really know what the side effects might be.
Has anyone else used this treatment with there child?
Thanks
Yes, along with limited sun exposure his eye lids, neck and temple have re-pigmented.
Has anyone ever used this and had positive results?
Our 8 year old kid has vitiligo on lower right side of the lip for the past 8 months. From the past couple months our kid is on Tacrolimus and Opzelura cream and we see a slight improvement. Met Dr. Amit Pandya in California to discuss treatment options and he recommended to continue these creams and start using handheld narrow UVB along with some other vitamins as this improves lip segmental vitiligo. Later if a tiny spot remains then doctor would take care of that using punch grafting. Is… read more
