How Can I Possibly Put On Sunblock Every 20-30 Mins?
A MyVitiligoTeam Member asked a question 💭

Greetings,
I have a pool, even when not swimming it seems
Impossible to apply SB so frequently.
The cost will be monumental and that’s all I’ll be doing, putting on SB.
So I then to stay indoors and go out when the sunsets.
The SB gets in my eyes and I hate the way it feels
On my skin.
I’m a 59 year old grandmother and was diagnosed 3
Years ago.
My mom’s father had vitiligo, it looks like my 30
Year old daughter has a spot coming…,
All this is too challenging….,

Sincerely Me

I'm with ya on the Sunscreen problem. It just feels so gross to put it on so much! 62, vitiligo came on after celiac diagnosis 6 years ago.

I feel you on this one. My doctor said I needed to put it on every hour, but I’d burn in 2-3 minutes. Wait…what?! What in the world is putting it on every hour going to do if I burn in 3 minutes. Man…I love the beach, but this is too much. Plus I sometimes forget to put on sunblock, or I’m so into what I’m doing I forget to reapply it😖. So frustrating.

…I ordered a swimsuit with long sleeves leggings to the ankles
And a hood, now maybe I just need to worry about face hands and feet. I think I’ll only use it around family.
Still just going out for a moment isn’t worth the time it takes to put on sunblock and yes
I too hate the way it feels.
Thanks for responding, I wish you well navigating Thru this skin condition that’s still new to us 🤍♥️💙
