That's a great question to ask before starting something new! Ashwagandha is not among the supplements that have been studied or recommended specifically for vitiligo management.

The supplements that have shown some evidence of benefit for vitiligo include:

- Vitamin D – supports a healthy immune response
- Vitamin E & C – antioxidant protection for melanocytes
- Ginkgo biloba – may slow spreading and help repigmentation
- Alpha-lipoic acid – may boost the effectiveness of other treatments
- Zinc and copper – antioxidant minerals
- Fish oil – antioxidant and photoprotective properties A key caution worth knowing: some supplements can actually put the immune system into "overdrive" — which is already a concern with vitiligo. Since ashwagandha is known to stimulate the immune system, this could potentially be counterproductive.

Since you're already on medication for vitiligo, it's especially important to check with your doctor before adding ashwagandha. It could interact with your current treatment in ways that aren't helpful — or worse, interfere with your progress.
