I honestly don’t mind my vitiligo, I think it gives me character! But, I am worried about other autoimmune disorders that I may be predisposed to. I often have a lot of stomach issues, and I have recently had thyroid cancer and my thyroid removed because of Hashimoto’s. Wondering what other things you have all experienced related to your vitiligo diagnosis.
Hi.
I too have had my thyroid removed and was also diagnosed with thyroid cancer. With all the stress of going through all this, I started to get brown spots all over my face. It took me 40 years to finally turn all white! And now my brown skin is coming back! Boy I just can’t catch a break!
I don’t feel pretty and self conscious of my appearance.
My husband tells me I’m still beautiful, bless his heart.
“Jesus says don’t worry about your looks because they will fade. All that matters to him is what’s in your heart”
So that’s what I need to remember.
I was wondering if vitiligo has anything to do with autoimmune and thyroid cancer?
None. It seems to me most Vit patients are healhty and if not it does not relate to Vit.
