Unfortunately anyone has felt some level of acceptance or rejection. While dating someone that never spoke about my vitiligo. Had a friend that pulled me to the side to let me know , i would have a better chance if i covered it up. I was crushed. So, in my journey through life and vitiligo has been part of me since childhood, so i do not remember my reflection in a mirror without it. So, tho i feel good about myself , that moment and others try their best to tear apart my opinion of my validity as a person. My life has not been a cake walk, and in a long string of turns i was not prepared for , raised in a church, i decided to start a path i had stopped in my youth, to pursue a relationship with god. I am not perfect, as i do not expect perfection in others, but i am a child of god, some may dislike my clothing, choice of car, pass judgement on my financial status, reject me on my vitiligo. I continue to find solice in god. Pursue relationships that are good for me. Rejection because of vitiligo is more a reflection on their vanity than your validity to be loved, treated fairly with compassion. I never cover my vitiligo. I am sorry that anyone goes through this as the older i get the more i realize how my floundering and difficulty to accept myself has caused problems for myself. Please accept my , im sorry .

Not from the opposite sex, but I felt rejection from my own self. I had to remind myself that i am beautiful inside and out.

DanielKinyuaWaWangari I refuse to allow people to make me feel rejected with my vitiligo; my physical condition is as an autoimmune disease known for causing a loss of pigment-making my skin cells called melanocytes, leading to patches of color loss.
I have empowered myself with vitiligo knowledge by reading articles and books. I have joined a support group, My Vitiligo Team, to communicate and learn information on people living with vitiligo. I reduced my lifestyle from stress by avoiding undesirable people or events.
Daily I have a routine of mindfulness to spread love, peace and harmony to people I encountered. I enjoy exercising and I have joined gym with a membership to exercise 3 times a week. I have prioritize my hours of sleep from 8 to 10 hours daily.
I am aware living with vitiligo is stressful and I will voluntary go to receive counseling to talk about my acceptance of my physical condition. πŸ˜„
