Yes, vaginal or vulvar vitiligo is something many women experience. A MyVitiligoTeam member once asked the same question: "Does anyone have vitiligo on or in their vagina or cervix?" — so you're definitely not alone in wondering about this.

Vitiligo can affect the moist tissues lining the genital area, causing white patches on the labia or vagina. It's the same condition that affects other parts of the body. Here are some important things to know:

- It is not a sexually transmitted infection — it cannot be passed to or caught from anyone else
- It does not affect physical health or sexual function
- It can sometimes cause anxiety around intimacy, which is completely understandable
- Treatment is not medically necessary, but options are available if desired

Because the skin in this area is thin and sensitive, treatments need to be gentle. A dermatologist can create a specialized plan suited to this sensitive area if treatment is something being considered.

Talking with a therapist or counselor can also help manage any anxiety around intimacy. You're far from alone in navigating this!

Hi villitons, we in the white zone !!, camaraderie is best, least I'm not in wheelchair or worse, I appreciate that very much, I know it's unsightly & I do see people staring sometimes, but hell by the time the white light comes to collect me I'll be invisible 😆 lol
